1. Astrological Forecast for the Month

September Forecast

We are currently in Virgo season. The Virgo season runs from 22 August through to 23 September. It is an Earth element, a Mutable sign and is ruled by the planet Mercury.

Mercury also rules Gemini and its interesting to see how many Gemini's and Virgo's get along or are in a relationship. They communicate well together.

The planet Mercury rules our thoughts and ideas, our analytic mind and our beliefs. Its associated with qualities like precision, organisation, being of service, your attitude to health, and when you are in a good routine you are also happy in the work place. 

Saturn and Neptune Retrograde into Pisces

On 1 September until 15 February 2026, Saturn retrogrades back into Pisces 25-29 degrees, and on 22 October until 27 January 2026, Neptune will also retrograde back into Pisces at 29 degrees.

Both these planets just moved into the sign of Aries a few months back and now it's very interesting that they will both retrograde back into Pisces. They both are at that last 29 degree of Pisces which is known as the anaretic degree, it represents a point of conclusion, an intense completion, where the lessons and experiences of the sign are fully incorporated. Many people believe that a planet in the anaretic degree is at the height of its manifestation. This is so amazing that it is taking place at this very moment; a wave of insight and wisdom is accumulating, and it is happening for a reason.

Let's examine the energy of Pisces, a water sign that is extremely sensitive, abstract, and compassionate. If this is taken too far, it can lead to victimisation due to our own sensitivity. This is the shadow side where we wind up being pushed around by the energy and absorbing everything from everyone. 

What this means for us between the months of September and February, is that we have the opportunity to learn about setting limits and saying no, are acceptable. We'll all receive mastery-level instructions and lessons on this, so we recognize our own vulnerabilities, including our sensitivity and compassion.

When Saturn and Neptune moved into Aries, they gave us an insight of what's to come, the confidence of powerful Aries gave us assurance that we are capable of managing life and making it through effectively. The energy of these planets retrograding back into Pisces is far more sensory, emotional, and feeling-oriented. It would be easy to overlook this wisdom if we are in pain or going through a tough period. Sometimes whilst in the Pisces dynamic we may forget that we are capable.

These planets serve as a reminder to push ourselves further and to remember that everyone of us has power. Each of us is capable of making our own decisions, knowing this should aid you in maintaining your center. It all comes down to striking a balance. With everything going on in the world right now, it can be overwhelming, and if you don't have the proper boundaries or awareness, you risk yourself getting caught up in all the pain.

Mercury in Virgo

On 2-18 September, Mercury transits through Virgo. Mercury in Virgo is a very strong as Mercury is the ruler of Virgo. Mercury the planet of communication and thinking, and in Virgo you can say this is critical thinking. This combination offers us logical insights on situations we may find ourselves in, process it and come up with solutions and resolutions.

The sign of Virgo is particularly solution-oriented. During this time, high mental acuity will occur with a frequency that is extremely exact and detailed. Mercury in Virgo is the best sign for cleaning and organising your home, dusting off all the shelves, rearranging your closets, even rearranging furniture, adding unique touches to your work, and editing them. Mercury in Virgo excels in all of this, its like a ritual for Virgo.

With Virgo's shadow side, we can get an overly intense critical eye since Virgo's editorial side is prone to focusing on mistakes and what's wrong rather than what is right. Keep in mind that we should avoid entering this crucial energy. It is helpful to know that every zodiac sign has a dark shadow side, which can occasionally surface especially when we are under stress.

On 7 September, we have a Full Moon Eclipse in Pisces. This Full Moon is very strong as its opposite the Sun and Mercury in Virgo. The Moon in Pisces is opposing all of this mental clarity, reasoning, analytical skill, precision, and practicality. Saturn is also in Pisces during this time, and to top it all off it is also an eclipse.

This Full Moon offers us a chance to strike a balance between the practical aspects of life and our spiritual beliefs, the spiritual realm, our sensitivities, and compassion. This is crucial. Being a spiritual person and living a practical life entails being able to deal with the difficult situations that arise in our daily lives.

Some examples of little stresses may experience are; you have to hurry to get to your destination, being delayed in traffic, being late for an appointment, having your flight canceled, or simply not feeling well. We must choose our state of mind and connect with all of our spiritual techniques in order to manage the pressures and physical tensions that we all experience and get through any potential stressors that may arise in life.

To be spiritual is like walking through life with your eyes open, as well as being practical and effectively grounded. You don't want to go too far either way. This Full Moon is asking us to enjoy our spirituality with harmony on this earthy plane.

New Moon Solar Eclipse

On 21 September, we have a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Virgo. In August, we also had a New Moon in Virgo but at 0 degrees, now we have New Moon in Virgo but at 29 degrees, that anaretic degree and its also an solar eclipse. Also a reminder, that Saturn and Neptune are opposite in the sign of Pisces.

Make the most of this energy by doing some Feng Shui in your office, home, and workplace. excellent method of establishing a sense of order and a connection with the physical and material world.

Since we are still in the Virgo and Pisces signs, the message of this New Moon Eclipse is rather similar to that of the Full Moon. Learn to strike a balance between the physical practical world and your energy of compassion, humility and service. 

Virgo and Pisces energies are about people providing their assistance and being of service, like volunteering, these signs are giving energies rather than egocentric ones. But everything must be in balance though. Being humble is a lovely ideal and its much needed in the world today, but we must exercise it while maintaining our boundaries and striking a balance between inflow and outflow, so that you are not only giving of yourself but also getting a return in equal measure.

Mars in Scorpio Square Pluto

On 22 September till 4 November, Mars will transit Scorpio.  Scorpio's traditional ruler, Mars, is a very potent energy. With this combination of energy, you can get a lot done. It is an unstoppable force that only requires a task to complete.

The symbol of the phoenix really connects with the Scorpio energy. The Phoenix is one of the higher levels of the Scorpio sign.

When this type of transit occurs, the wisdom is to understand how to become a conduit; it is very rich in passion and power that may flow without becoming corrupted, without feeling tight about things, and without seeking to control. Being a conduit means that you should open yourself up and allow it to pass through you. 

On 24 September, Mars squares Pluto with the Moon in Scorpio. This transit will pass over only for a day. However, it is important to note, because this Mars Square Pluto and Moon in Scorpio energy will offer you the strength, power and laser-like focus to bring about the change you desire, whether it's a long-term project commitment or a significant metamorphosis within yourself.

Make good use of this energy because you may notice some people may become irritated and angry, this is tapping into the shadow side. You can use this energy to its fullest potential, whereas others might not. You can emerge like the phoenix rebirthing from the pyre. Utilise it to the fullest extent possible with sound judgment, powerful intuition, good intention and purpose.

Second Hand September, is a campaign to encourage people to buy only second hand items for 30 days in the month of September.

1  First Day of Spring!
1  National Wattle Day. Wear a sprig of wattle of Australia's colours of green and gold. Greet each with a "Happy Wattle Day."
1  National Walk to Work Day. Go on do it!
1 - 30  RSPCA Cupcake Day. Gather your favourite crew, and bake to fight animal cruelty. Your Cupcake Day can be held any time in September, so pick a day that suits you!
3  Australian National Flag Day. The Australian flag is unique - it was the first flag in the world to be chosen in an open competition, and it is the only flag to fly over an entire continent. It will celebrate its 124th "birthday" in 2025.
4  Taekwondo Day.
5  International Day of Charity. Concerned with the poverty problem, the UN called for countries to recognize and contribute towards efforts of charitable organisations and individuals.
7  Father's Day. Many Australians observe Father's Day on the first Sunday of September. It is a day for people to show their appreciation for fathers and father figures.
7  National threatened Species Day, encourages the community to help conserve Australia's unique native plants and animals, and raises awareness of extinction prevention.
8  Star Trek Day. Anniversary of 1st episode in 1966.
8  Full Moon in Pisces. A day for dreaming and visualising.
11  Bushcares Major Day Out. Celebrating a day to restore and maintain Australia's remaining bushland. Over 250 events held across Australia.
12  RUOK Day. RUOK is a suicide prevention charity in Australia, reminding people that having meaningful conversations need to happen every day.
12  World Dolphin Day.
14  National Bilby Day, is the second Sunday of September, which campaigns for the preservation of one of Australia's most lovable, but threatened, native animals.
16  International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. This event commemorates the date of signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1987.
15-21  National Organic Week. (NOW) is a week of targeted media and locally-held activities designed to increase awareness of the benefits of organic products and farming production systems and accelerate the uptake of these in the wider Australian community and environment.
17  International Microorganism Day. From health to the environment, microbes have a role and our mission is to highlight and celebrate that on International Microorganism Day every year.
18  World Water Monitoring Day.
20  World Clean Up Day.
21  International Red Panda Day.
21  UN World Peace Day. Each year his day is observed around the world. For 2023, we celebrated the 75th year!
21  Zero Emissions Day.
21  Equinox. equal day and night in both northern and southern hemispheres. Ostara, Pagan, Wicca. As day and night stand equal, its important to celebrate everything that is great about being alive.
22  New Moon in Virgo. A day for cleansing and clearing.

22  World Car Free Day, when people from around the globe get together in the streets to remind us all that we don't have to accept a car-dominated society.
22  World Rhino Day. Celebrates all five species of rhino: Black, white, greater one-horned, Sumatran and Javan rhinos.

26  World Maritime Day, aimed at ensuing that international shipping keeps up to date with technical and technological advances in safety, that it addresses the ever increasing number of environmental challenges and concerns.

2. Tarot Cards Insight into the Energy of the Month...

Every month, I turn over 2 cards, one from the top of the deck to represent the Conscious energy and the other from the bottom of the deck to represent the Unconscious energy. I am always thinking of the big picture and exploring for the collective.

These two Tarot cards are also loaded on my Tarot Mastery private Facebook group for students of Tarot in Action to explore the meanings and share their insights with others.

I asked the Tarot cards what is the energy for the month of September 2025.
What do we need to be mindful of, so we can make the most out of it for ourselves and for others.

The 7 of Cups is in the Conscious position, and 8 Pentacles is in the Unconscious position.



Summary...

Interesting month for September. On the surface we are dreaming for things that are of emotional value for us, meanwhile in the unconscious we are chipping away at practical things.

The 7 of Cups shows us that things we wish for always seem out of reach, like we are wishful thinking. But in the unconscious world, the 8 of Pentacles shows us that deep down we are busily working towards these goals all the time.

The message these cards bring forth for us this month is maybe think bigger than what you already are, and know that deep down you have been working hard, aiming towards your goals in so many ways, such as saving money and doing that research. 

The 7 of Cups

In this card we have a figure in black in the front representing our shadow self or our unconscious self deliberating the 7 cups floating in a grey cloud. I like to call this card the Vision Board card.

Basically, there are 7 fundamental areas that are of value to us. There is the spiritual, our social/friends, our family, our finances, our fitness, heath and mental.

We need to do work in all these areas to feel completely whole and self-assured. We need to keep filling up these cups so we can see the rewards and how much we grow in life. 

The 8 of Pentacles

The figure in this card is working hard for the money. Maybe he is doing things the hard way or maybe he likes his routine. 

Even though he wears a black apron symbolising unknown or maybe keeping things under wraps. His under clothes or on the innerside you can see he wears the red colour of passion and desires and the blue colour of emotions, feelings and intuition. Its like he knows deep down what he truly wants to achieve.

But in the outer world, he doesn't get the timing of things, or how things come together or when its all going to happen for him.

I like to say to clients, keep filling up your bucket, or keep chipping away at your goals, because one day, an opportunity will land right in front of you, as if like magic and you will hear yourself saying, "that will work, that's exactly what I'm looking for, I'll take that, thank you very much!"

LUNABEARS LADS & LADYS - ANNUAL PICNIC

We have been gathering for the LunaBears Picnic since 2007.

       We raised $780 in October 2024

Thank you to Mastersons Bar. Heartfelt thank you to all that attended and to everyone that contributed. 16 people in total contributed this year, it means a lot to our furry friends!
    
The funds go directly to the Bear Sanctuary in Luang Prabang, Laos, through Free The Bears, with the resolve to end Bear bile farming forever!
