~ OCTOBER 2025 ~
 Happy Halloween for the Whole Month!
And just like that, it's Halloween season once again. 31 October is known as Hallows Eve. The evening before the Christian holy days of All Saints Day on 1 November and All Souls Day on 2 November.
This is the time when the veil between our two worlds are at their thinnest, meaning this is a fabulous time for us to connect with our ancestors so we can heal with them.
I remember my mother would light candles for this holy week, she would display photos of her mother, grandmother, sisters, brothers and other family members that all passed over already.
I on the other hand, cannot light candles at my place, as I have a cat named Zachary with a very fluffy tail, that nearly all fizzled off one day when he walked past a lit candle. Luckily I was there.
Still, I honour Halloween and these holy days in my own special way, I hold a place in my heart for all those loved ones that have passed on, I honour them by remembering them, remembering the good times and letting go of the hard times, I wish them all well and send them my love.
October is also the 10th month of the year, in Numerology it's a 10/1 number.
Number 1 is a time of new beginnings. October for me, is a little snippet or insight of what the new energy is coming in from the new year ahead. October for us in the Southern Hemisphere is also Spring time and we tend to do a lot of spring cleaning during this time. A time of renewal on so many levels, even the flowers are starting to bud again, how glorious!

October Forecast
 Welcome to Libra season. The Libra season runs from 23 September through to 22 October. It is an Air element, a Cardinal sign and is ruled by the planet Venus.
Venus rules two zodiac signs, Taurus and Libra. Venus is comfortable in both signs. In Taurus she shows up as loving good quality food and all those top shelf products. In Libra she loves relationships and its all about social harmony,
Libra is all about balance, fairness and mutual respect especially in relationships. Compromising, being diplomatic and win-win solutions helps to bring about peace for all.
Libra also loves to be beautiful, she comes across graceful, elegant and loves luxury. She has a good eye in fashion, also in art through to designing a room and creating those aesthetically pleasing spaces.
Her shadow side, yes everything has a shadow side. Venus Libra can be lazy, idle and can binge eat, may be hard for her to get out of bed. Avoids conflicts and may tend to people please. And the classic, sitting on the fence repertoire for not making a decision.
Saturn and Neptune in Pisces
 Saturn retrograded into Pisces on 1 September till 15 February 2026, and Neptune retrogrades into Pisces on 22 October till 27 January 2026.
This retrograde cycle began back in September and will continue until mid-February of next year. We have the chance here to hone our empathy, compassion and sensitivity skills to the fullest and use this knowledge moving forward with wisdom.
Understanding boundaries is crucial during this time so that we can be the observer of what is occurring with others who could be in distress or are in pain or are in need of assistance. Saturn teaches us how we can intervene and help them while maintaining our boundaries and avoid feeling completely overwhelmed.
As we go over this Pisces dynamic again, we can see that this intuitive energy is extremely powerful. Pisces is ruled by Neptune and is associated with imagination, creativity, and spiritual energy. It is extremely sensitive and emphasised, so be mindful of this and enjoy it, but set those boundaries to avoid getting sucked into it.
Full Moon in Aries
On 6 October, we have a Full Moon in Aries. This Aries  Full Moon may just help us set those boundaries. It will provide the necessary boost of energy we need.
At the same time as this Full Moon, we have Saturn in Pisces on the MC and its angular. There is also Venus on the IC. When there are major planets on the major angles, they are highlighting something for us, they are making a statement and asking us to pay attention.
The Moon in Aries' gives a strong desire for us to be independent, self-sufficient and take proactive measures moving forward, all this is punctuated by the indomitable Mars in Scorpio. Mars is the classic ruler of Scorpio and is as strong as it can be during this phase. At this same time, the planet Mercury will also be transiting Scorpio and square Pluto.
You have a lot of powerful strong and active energy flowing around here with this Aries Full Moon, giving you the opportunity to speak up and tell the truth. You are very capable of being passionate, assertive and authouritative right now. Be mindful of Libra's energy working in the background to ensure that we behave politely and with decorum, make good use of this energy to your full advantage.
Pluto's Retrogrades
 On 13 October, Pluto ends its retrograde at 1 degree Aquarius and goes Direct, then on 5 May 2026 Pluto goes retrograde again at 5 degrees Aquarius.
When Pluto closes a retrograde cycle, particularly in Aquarius, it's highlighting social growth, human cooperation and understanding. Aquarius energy is all about society, what can we bring to the community and make it better for everyone, humanitarian energy and the brotherhood and sisterhood of man.
Venus will enter Libra on October 13th. Venus is all about that lovely, harmonic energy, which emphasises harmony and power working together. This is a really powerful energy for the second part of this month.
New Moon in Libra
 On 21 October, we have a New Moon in Libra at 28 degrees. A lunaction at 28 or 29 degrees in a sign, is a subtle reminder for us to pay attention, to fine tune to the highest levels of that sign and to be mindful of the shadow side.
Libra's shadow side: keep in mind that, as an Air sign, Libra can become very entrenched in the mind. It may become overly preoccupied with analysis, overthinking, or hesitation. Despite hearing both sides of an issue, you never seem to decide on any decision.
You should take the appropriate steps because this New Moon is making you extremely conscious of this process. There is also Jupiter in Cancer squared by the New Moon, indicating a lot of hope and optimistic energy.
Also, we have both Mars and Mercury exactly conjunct in Scorpio during this time, this prevents us from slipping into the shadow side of Libra, which may be stuck in that over-analysis, and instead makes room for power, authority and clear communication. The lovely thing is that the conjunction of Mars and Mercury helps us take action by avoiding all of that over-analysis and over-intellectualism.
Be aware of this intensely potent energy of communication; it will undoubtedly be an opportunity for you to speak up and express your truth, so now is not the time to hold back. Be careful to accompany it with a little of that Venus in Libra energy of harmony, grace, and civility, because the world already has enough instances of mean communication. Speak with beauty.
Mars and Mercury in Scorpio
 Mars in Scorpio from 22 October till 4 November from 20 degrees to 20 degrees.
Mercury in Scorpio will Retrograde from 9 November till 29 degrees.
~ 20 November - Mercury Retrograde hits 29 degrees
~ 28 November - Mercury Retrograde hits 20 degrees
~ 1 December - Mercury Direct hits 20 degrees
~ 10 December - Mercury Direct hits 20 degrees
Many times there are magical signs in Astrology that happen, you will see many patterns, this is another one that for me highlights something for us to take special note of. So we have Mars moving between 20 and 29 degrees of Scorpio, which is significant since Mercury will retrograde in November and reach these same degrees through until December.
When Mars first enters Scorpio in late October and early November, Mercury's retrograde will help us review the choices, actions, and emotions that may have arisen for you. Therefore, around the end of October and the beginning of December, pay attention to what is going on in your life. Observe your motivation, take note of what you are starting, and experience this amazing deep and powerful energetic Scorpio energy.
Similar to a ferocious rebirthing phoenix, you can tap into and channel this energy. However, if you have planets in that Scorpion range, take closer attention. It will be a very active time of growth from October through to December. There will be a lot of creative energy and power at our fingertips, even if you don't have any planets in this zone, take advantage of this wonderful astrological dance that is taking place.

Every month, I turn over 2 cards, one from the top of the deck to represent the Conscious energy and the other from the bottom of the deck to represent the Unconscious energy. I am always thinking of the big picture and exploring for the collective.
These two Tarot cards are also loaded on my Tarot Mastery private Facebook group for students of Tarot in Action to explore the meanings and share their insights with others.
I asked the Tarot cards what is the energy for the month of October 2025.
What do we need to be mindful of, so we can make the most out of it for ourselves and for others.
The King of Wands is in the Conscious position, and High Priestess is in the Unconscious position.
  Summary...
We have 2 very powerful figures here for October. In the conscious position we have the King of Wands, very much an outwardly masculine energy. And in the unconscious level we have The High Priestess, whom loves to live behind the curtain.
The King of Wands shows us that whatever we are working on in the outer world we are doing it successfully, so keep on doing what you are doing, you will see the results from your efforts.
Meanwhile, deep down its like you are unconsciously guided by your intuition. You are dreaming about it or understand something deep down that it's the right thing for you to do.
King of Wands
Kings are masters, they have achieved resolution, they were a crown of success and they have respect from their community. They are confident with their gut feelings. (This is how he connects beautifully with the High Priestess within). He wears an orange outfit that symbolises vitality and energy. The green cape is all about creativity, meaning he is enterprising and still likes to be involved with what he does.
You can see the wand is resting comfortably in his hand now as if he doesn't have to push it or work so hard. His crown looks like a simmering fire, for example when you are cooking a good curry, you have a very low simmering flame so as to bring the best flavours out.
The grey platform suggests he has built a strong base and foundation. Whatever he has created is successful and long lasting. He is a king after all!
The little salamander beside him and on the back drop as well as on his cape are a symbol of renewal. You can see they are curling and biting their own tails linking the head and tail into an ouroboros, also another symbol of infinity.
High Priestess
The High Priestess is a major arcana. She suggests that we are all psychic, we all know things deep down that we believe are true for us. When the High Priestess speaks to us, she comes through via dreams, or a tarot card reading, while we mediate or even having a shower.
You can see the veil hanging between the two pillars separating her from the ocean of life behind her. We are cut off from it, this is why she speaks to us through unconscious means. We have to cut ourselves off from the hectic busy outer world, turn inward to hear what she has to say to us. And when we hear it, we know it is our truth.
There is the Moon crescent at her feet and she wears the cycle of the Moon as her crown. You can see the first quarter Moon, the full Moon and the last quarter Moon. Some people like to say the full Moon looks like a pearl. The cycles of the Moon also represent the cycles of the feminine. The Maiden, the Mother and the Crone as the last quarter Moon.
She wears white, and her clothing looks like it flows into the ocean behind her, she is part if it. She also wears the cross which connects her to the Virgin Mary and Christianity. The cross is also about duality, that is why there are two pillars and on the veil behind her there are the pomegranates representing the feminine sexuality and the palm fruits representing the masculine sexuality. The veil is behind her, she is not part of it, she represents purity, virginity and all the single ladies.

 We have been gathering for the LunaBears Picnic since 2007.
We raised $780 in October 2024

The funds go directly to the Bear Sanctuary in Luang Prabang, Laos, through Free The Bears, with the resolve to end Bear bile farming forever!
