 Honouring Our Familiars
Every year in August, there are so many special days that honour some of my favourite animals and wildlife. See the full list below under the Events Calendar.
This year, I only have one familiar to honour, as Carlos has passed over a year ago already, so its only Zachary and I left holding the fort now.
Every night now, Zachary sleeps at the the end of bed, before Carlos had this honour. Zachary has stepped up to this new position of looking after Mum.
It was really tricky to find the best picture of him to share with you all here. But I think I found the right one, this one says a lot, he only has eyes for me. He probably is waiting patiently for me to get up and feed him some more.
Tarot & Numerology in Singapore
The Singapore tarot & numerology masterclasses will be going ahead this year. Traveling over there for the first time since COVID. During COVID we went online via Zoom.
I have been traveling to Singapore since 2010. Made some very good friends over there that I am looking forward to catching up with them all.
Some of my students are doing really well with their tarot consultations. Even performed Q & A preview nights on my behalf, to answer questions and share their experiences on what they would expect from learning tarot. Very proud of them indeed.

 Welcome to Leo Season
The Leo season runs from 23 July through to 22 August. It is a Fire element, a Fixed sign and is ruled by the Sun, the planet that is associated with confidence, creativity, passion, generosity and self-expression.
Leo is represented by the lion, which symbolises strength, bravery, leadership and a powerful presence. During Leo season, people are often encouraged to embrace who they are, express themselves openly and feel proud of their unique qualities.
Leo season is also connected with warmth, generosity, and joy. It can be a wonderful time to spend with friends and loved ones, celebrate important moments and enjoy life to the fullest. This season encourages people to be bold, follow their passions and not be afraid to stand out from the crowd. It is a time for creativity, whether through art, music, fashion, writing, or simply finding new ways to express yourself.

 Leo Energy throughout August
~ Jupiter in Leo
~ Sun-Jupiter conjunct
What started back in July, we begin this month with a powerful, expanding exciting and fiery energy, with the planet Jupiter spending its first entire month in the sign of Leo. Jupiter spends one year in each zodiac sign.
The Sun-Jupiter conjunction occurred around the end of July, with the full Moon in Aquarius.
This Sun-Jupiter conjunction in the sign of Leo is particularly lovely because it energises and activates our leadership qualities, our broad sense of optimism and confidence. It gives us or shows us an opportunity, we get to see our capacity to be able to stand in our power, show up and shine without arrogance. Love the energy of Leo, allow all of this expansive good vibes to continue and flow for you throughout August.
 Mercury and Mars Transits in Cancer
~ Mercury entered Cancer in June - enters Leo on 19 August
~ Mars enters Cancer 11 August – till end of September
Mercury went retrograde for its 3 week period in July after entering Cancer in June. On 9 August, it will depart from Cancer and enter into Leo. Mercury in Cancer triggered all that emotional energy in our minds and consciousness.
Mars will enter Cancer on 11 August, exactly two days after Mercury exits that sign. Mars will remain in this sensitive, emotional sign of Cancer until the end of September. It's remarkable how the universe has arranged this, its like the universe is giving us more time to develop our emotional awareness. Remember that Mars is that motivational energy that wants to move things forward, have the breakthroughs.
 New Moon in Leo Solar Eclipse
On the 12 August, we have a New Moon in Leo and its also a Solar Eclipse. During this new Moon in Leo, there is also the Sun, Jupiter and Mercury all in Leo at this same time. The planets are all highly involved and have a lovely, harmonious and exciting arrangement about them.
This eclipse in Leo can present us with an amazing chance to manifest heart chakra consciousness with some assurance. To be able to stand strong in our ego without necessarily being conceited, as well as have some exciting new ideas and developments breaking through for us.
Also during this time, Mars is in Cancer at zero degrees, this is an Aries Point on this particular day. Every Aries Point is zero degrees in a cardinal sign, whether it's Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn. Aries Point activation indicates that something is ready to be seen by the public, it wants some form of public acknowledgement. So, mind our manners during this time.
 More Mercury Activations
~ Mercury enters Virgo from 25 August – 10 September
~ Sun conjuncts Mercury – 27 August
Towards the end of the month, Mercury rushes into Leo, which is typical after a retrograde period. It swiftly swings into the next sign, this time its Virgo on 25 August and will remain there for three weeks until 10 September.
Mercury is quite powerful in Virgo because it is one of its home signs and is very comfortable there. Additionally, the flavor will shift slightly toward a more analytical focus. Despite the fact that Mars will continue to provide the emotional flow while in Cancer. Mercury in Virgo is incredibly beneficial for problem-solving, efficiency, accuracy, and detail.
When the Sun and Mercury conjuncts in Virgo on 27 August, this will reach its pinnacle energy and activation. You may come up with a fresh new idea, concept or project. Some of your questions may be answered. You will feel extremely organised during this period, use it well.
 Full Moon in Pisces Lunar Eclipse
On 28 August, we have the Full Moon in Pisces and Lunar Eclipse. This eclipse is fascinating because it’s a very different flavour from the Leo solar eclipse. Through this full Moon we will have a strong activation between Sun and Mercury in Virgo which offers that giving service and organisation vibe.
Pisces always brings a lot of empathy and sensitivity to the table, it feels more abstract since it is a direct channel from the universe. It is more faith-based, trusting, flexible and imaginative, and incredibly intuitive energy.
This eclipse combines confidence, trust, intuition, and creativity from the Moon in Pisces with that grounded energy with our feet firmly planted on the ground making sensible judgments from the Sun and Mercury moving through Virgo.

Calendar of Events for this Month!
PAWGUST 2026 is the final-ever running of Australia's favourite virtual walking and running event for Guide Dogs Australia. Running form 1-31 August 2-26.
Participants walk or run a set distance of 60km, 100km or 125km to raise funds. It is free to join and you don't need a dog to participate.

1 Horses Birthday. All thoroughbreds have the same birthday so that their ages can be standardised for comparison because of the historical lack of records of actual birth days. Their birthdays are January 1st in the northern hemisphere and August 1st in the southern hemisphere.
2 Jeans for Genes Day. A national day when people wear their jeans to raise much needed funds for research into birth defects and disease such as cancer, epilepsy, and a range of genetic disorders.
8 International Cat Day. First created by Colleen Paige, a strong animal welfare advocate, to bring attention to the plights of the domestic cat.

9 International Day for World Indigenous People. This date marks the day of the first meeting, in 1982, of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations of the Sub-commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights.
9 Red Nose Day. Every year on the second Friday in August, we invite Australian's everywhere to get silly for a serious cause to raise much needed funds to help stop little lives being cut short and support grieving families.
10 World Lion Day.
12 International Youth Day. A policy framework and guidelines for national action and international support to improve the situation of young people.
12 International Elephant Day. Bringing the world together to help elephants. Working towards a world that protects elephants, wildlife and their habitat.
10 - 18 National Science Week. Annual celebration of science and technology featuring 1000s of events organised around the country.
13 New Moon in Leo. A day of feeling confident and fired up in doing something fun and exciting with friends.
14 World Lizard Day.
15 International Homeless Animals Day. Every day, animals are abandoned or placed into kennels, dependent on charities and goodwill. Do something for your local animal shelter whether it be donate some goods, money or help.
15 World Cotton-top Tamarin Day.
17 Black Cat Appreciation Day. Did you know black cats are the least likely to be adopted and more often put to sleep.
19 World Photography Day.
19 World Humanitarian Day. Honours those who have lost their lives in humanitarian service and those, who continue to bring assistance and relief to millions.
19 World Orangutan Day. To recognise the most iconic victim of the palm oil industry.
19 - 25 Keep Australia Beautiful Week. Was developed to remind people about the simple things they can do in their daily lives to reduce the impact on the environment and encourage action.
21 World Senior Citizen Day.
22 National Honey Bee Day.
25 - 29 World Water Week. Together we can develop solutions to address climate change and other water related challenges.
25 Lord Krishna Birthday. Jai Jai Hare Hare!
26 International Dog Day. No one can win hearts like man's best friend and we honour this bond between man and canine.

Every month, I turn over 2 cards, one from the top of the deck to represent the Conscious energy and the other from the bottom of the deck representing the Unconscious. I am always thinking of the big picture and exploring for the collective.
~ What is the energy for the month: August 2026.
~ What do we need to be mindful of, so we can make the most out of it for ourselves and for others.
~ 7 of Wands is in the Conscious position, and 8 of Wands is in the Unconscious position.
  Summary
Interesting to see two wands cards and the numbers following on from each other.
In the conscious position there is the 7 of Wands and in the unconscious position we have the 8 of Wands.
On the surface its seems like we are holding the energy back, keeping it in check when on the innerside you just want to let it fly.
Whatever is going on for this month, it will be all systems go because wands are fiery energy. August is all about that fiery Leo energy. Leo is ruled by the Sun. It may be the peak of Winter but this confident, fun and exciting fiery energy is not holding us back.
Seven of Wands
Whatever is going on for this fellow in the picture, he looks like he is in ready stance with the wand across his body. He is holding off the wands coming up towards him. He is on top of the situation and looks like he is winning the challenge.
A shadow side of this card may indicate he is blocking the energy that is trying to come up. Eg: blocking the people trying to move up the ladder at work.
The number 7 is about reassessment, weighing things up and thinking about things before we take action. Which is a smart thing to do.
Eight of Wands
This card is known as the timing card. It indicates fast results and swift movement. The wands are on their way, they are about to land. This suggests whatever you are working on is about to become real and manifest in the real world.
Because the wands are literally flying through the air, it may also suggest unexpected travel.
In a work or career reading they may indicate moving up the ladder. You may move side-ways but it will be a unexpected positive move in the right direction.
The number 8 is all about prosperity, wealth and abundance, whether this has to do with money in the material world or values on the spiritual sense. Note that your true prosperity is when you believe in yourself.

LUNABEARS LADS & LADYS - ANNUAL PICNIC
 We have been gathering for the LunaBears Picnic since 2007. In 2 years time it will be our 20 year reunion. 17 people contributed in 2025, that means a lot to our furry friends!
We raised $790 last October
Our funds go to the Luang Prabany Bear Sanctuary in Laos, through Free The Bears org, with the resolve to end Bear bile farming forever!
