Every year around this time, people are starting to plan for Xmas, whether its the big day itself or planning trips with the family. Yep, its only a few months away...

Here are some important factors why

~ Supporting your local, supports the economy and the money stays or is circulated in the community.

 Welcome to Virgo Season
The Virgo season runs from 23 August through to 22 September. It is an Earth element, a Mutable sign and is ruled by the planet Mercury, the planet of communication, thoughts, intelligence, learning, and the way we express ourselves. It is also associated with writing, speaking, decision-making, and how we process information.
Mercury is the ruling planet of both Gemini and Virgo, connecting it with curiosity, analysis, attention to detail, and clear communication. Mercury is very comfortable in Virgo it assists with having that clear coherence.
Virgo season is a time associated with organisation, self-improvement, productivity, and personal growth. It encourages us to slow down, focus on the details, create healthy routines, and bring more balance and structure into our lives.
Virgo energy is practical, thoughtful, hardworking, and grounded, making this season a perfect time to declutter, set goals, take care of yourself, and prepare for the next chapter with a clear and focused mind.
AUGUST FORECAST
 Mars Square Saturn
On 1 September we have Mars Square Saturn. This is an extremely potent formation that launches the month of September. You may be already feeling this energy a few days before the end of August, through to a few days into September.
The greatest way to use this Mars-Saturn energy is by focusing on disciplined motivational energy. Saturn is all about the discipline, order and building something, and Mars is the energy of motivation, action and determination. You can accomplish a lot if these two energies collaborate. Otherwise anger or irritation will flow if they are not cooperating. Time to get motivated, remember you always have an option.
 New Moon in Virgo
On the 10 September, we have a New Moon in Virgo. If you have an urge to start applying Feng Shui principles in your home, you may just find you will complete the process by the 10 September, when the New Moon enters in Virgo.
One of the worst things you can do is to start organising and cleaning, by taking everything out of a closet, feeling overwhelmed, leaving everything there for days or weeks, and then finally returning to it. This is not the Virgo way. Best to complete the process if you begin it. Otherwise, the mess you produce while attempting to organise only makes things more chaotic.
It's possible that you've reached a new level of organisation and that your life force is shining in a new way in your home or in your life, which makes this New Moon in Virgo simply amazing.
There are three additional noteworthy events taking place on this New Moon day. Mercury will move into the sign of Libra, Uranus starts its retrograde, as Venus enters Scorpio. This New Moon in Virgo coincides with a lot of action energy.
That’s what this New Moon in Virgo is really all about. Organise and clean, then integrate and assimilate, this will move you into a new level of discernment. It’s a very powerful New Moon.
 Full Moon in Aries
On 26 September, we have a Full Moon in Aries. Even though the Moon will peak in Aries, it is conjunct Neptune. Additionally, we have Saturn and Chiron in Aries. This is an intriguing statement since the Moon is sensitised by Neptune, but it is in Aries, which is strong, forceful, and bringing forth that self-assured energy.
All these combinations of planets asks, "Can you embody your confidence, your expertise, and your beautiful sense of self? Can you do it with grace and elegance and retain love?" Is it possible for you to be strong without becoming overwhelming? This Full Moon has a lot of subtleties, but the main message is that it's time to love who you are.
 Mars Enters Leo
On the 27 September, Mars will transit into the new sign of Leo. Mars will enter Leo the day following the Full Moon, and we will embark on an exciting adventure as Mars will finally retrograde in October.
After entering Leo and spending some time there, it will enter Virgo before retrograding back into Leo to complete the process. It will work with Jupiter and the South Node while in Leo.
For this reason, you want to develop a strong sense of self in September that is going to ground you in reality, be pragmatic and loving, so that your center doesn't falter when you're among dramatic people or when you're traveling, which may be dramatic, right?
Developing this sense of groundedness and emotional stability in September is crucial because there will be a lot of dynamic energy that will come up. This journey is going to be fascinating. There is work for us to do, to concentrate on being grounded, to integrate and assimilate, developing a really strong grounded sense of self.

1 First Day of Spring!
1 National Wattle Day. Wear a sprig of wattle of Australia's colours of green and gold. Greet each with a "Happy Wattle Day."
1 National Walk to Work Day. Go on you can do it!
3 Australian National Flag Day. The Australian flag is unique - it was the first flag in the world to be chosen in an open competition, and it is the only flag to fly over an entire continent. It will celebrate its 124th "birthday" in 2025.
4 Taekwondo Day.
5 International Day of Charity. Concerned with the poverty problem, the UN called for countries to recognize and contribute towards efforts of charitable organisations and individuals.
6 Father's Day. Many Australians observe Father's Day on the first Sunday of September. It is a day for people to show their appreciation for fathers and father figures.
7 National threatened Species Day, encourages the community to help conserve Australia's unique native plants and animals, and raises awareness of extinction prevention.
8 Star Trek Day. Anniversary of 1st episode in 1966.
10 RUOK Day. RUOK is a suicide prevention charity in Australia, reminding people that having meaningful conversations need to happen every day.
11 New Moon in Virgo. A good day to clean up everything!
12 World Dolphin Day.
14 National Bilby Day, is the second Sunday of September, which campaigns for the preservation of one of Australia's most lovable, but threatened, native animals.
16 International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. This event commemorates the date of signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1987.
14-20 National Organic Week. (NOW) is a week of targeted media and locally-held activities designed to increase awareness of the benefits of organic products and farming production systems and accelerate the uptake of these in the wider Australian community and environment.
17 International Microorganism Day. From health to the environment, microbes have a role and our mission is to highlight and celebrate that on International Microorganism Day every year.
17 RSPCA Cupcake Day. Gather your favourite crew, and bake to fight animal cruelty. Your Cupcake Day can be held any time in September, so pick a day that suits you!
18 World Water Monitoring Day.
20 World Clean Up Day.
21 International Red Panda Day.
21 UN World Peace Day. Each year his day is observed around the world. For 2023, we celebrated the 75th year!
21 Zero Emissions Day.
21 Equinox. Equal day and night in both northern and southern hemispheres. Ostara, Pagan, Wicca. As day and night stand equal, its important to celebrate everything that is great about being alive.
22 World Car Free Day, when people from around the globe get together in the streets to remind us all that we don't have to accept a car-dominated society.

Every month, I turn over 2 cards, one from the top of the deck to represent the Conscious energy and the other from the bottom of the deck representing the Unconscious. I am always thinking of the big picture and exploring for the collective.
~ What is the energy for the month: September 2026
~ What do we need to be mindful of, so we can make the most out of it for ourselves and for others around us.
~ 8 Cups is in the Conscious position, and The Sun is in the Unconscious position.
  Summary
Well these two cards cannot be any different.
In the outer conscious world, there is a need to retreat, and in the inner unconscious world you want to shine.
However this plays out for you, I think withdrawing and reviewing is a smart thing to do. Just take your time with whatever is going on. The clouds will eventually part and then you can let yourself shine.
8 Cups
Here is someone with a lot of love and passion, because they are wearing the colour red, heading off towards the mountains, where the Hermit lives, to reframe and find some answers.
You can see the eight cups in front spaced out as if one is missing, so he is going off to find the missing cup. This is also known as searching for their holy grail. May even be considered as filling up ones cup. And no one can do this for you.
It's a solo journey, you may not even know where to start nor where to look. But you will find something and only then can you go back home.
The Sun
This is a major arcana energy, and it is all about the rebirth. Nice follow on card to receive after the 8 Cups, is suggests that you found your answer and now you are beginning again with enthusiasm.
The horse represents moving forward and its happening right now, because horses represents active masculine energies.
You can see the grey wall behind the horse which represents the boundaries we now put in place, we are no longer held back by societies limitations, we draw our own line in the sand.
Then there all the sunflowers, beautiful striking plant that represents growth, we have grown. Also note that everything on this card needs the Sun to grow, Humans, Plants and Animals.

LUNABEARS LADS & LADYS - ANNUAL PICNIC
 We have been gathering for the LunaBears Picnic since 2007. In 2027 it will be our 20 year reunion. 17 people contributed last year, that means al lot to our furry friends.
We raised $790 last October 2025
Our funds go to the Luang Prabang Bear Sanctuary in Laos, through Free The Bears org, with the resolve to end Bear bile farming forever!
